How to gift wrap
First of all, it’s easier than you think. Wrapping a present is something that should be done with joy and excitement. I mean why else would you be wrapping a present unless there’s an occasion right? Be it the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or whatever, nothing beats a perfectly wrapped gift to celebrate the occasion. Now the problem is you don’t know how to wrap. That’s okay, read through this guide and you’ll be a gift wrapping master when it’s all said and done.
You’ll need three basic materials, first is some gift wrapping paper. Now this can be easily found at your local craft store at any time of the year. Second is a pair of scissors. This is for the cleanliness of the gift. You want to be able to cut your wrap in clean and straight pieces to make it’s easier for you to wrap. Lastly is some tape. Now this to seal and finish your wrap.
Now that you have the materials, its time to wrap your gift:
Make sure to stabilize your gift first. If it is a fragile item, put it in a box and tape it to secure it during the wrapping process. Next is to measure how much wrapping paper you need. Layout your wrapping paper and place the box or item in the center and upside down to make sure the seams of the paper is at the bottom of the gift. Then fold the paper over the item and make sure to estimate if the paper is big enough to cover all sides of the box before cutting.
With the box or item in the center, bring one side of the paper up the side and halfway across the top, taping it to the box. Then create a clean seam by folding the last half inch of the paper to create a tight crease and bring this side up so it just overlaps the first one and make sure to secure it with tape. Bring the second side of paper up over the first and starting on one end, fold down the top flap on the side of the box creating two wings at the side. Flatten those in against the box then fold the remaining triangle of paper up against the box. Hold it down with some tape.
Stand the present up and repeat what you did on the other side and you should be ready to go. Add a ribbon or card for finishing touches and your gift wrapping will be ready to amaze and impress.
